Dead Western Trio and Pregnant Shows in Davis

The Dead Western Trio just played the Villanova House last night and it was a phenomenal show as always. If you haven't seen him play with the band (including Jesse of Ellie Fortune on bass and Kevin Corcoran on percussion) you really need to check it out. It's incredible how the sparseness of the percussion and bass adds fullness to the sound and makes his songs even more somber and introspective. Joining him were Ohioan and Weaver from PDX. Ohioan was amazing too, definitely check him out if you get the chance to see him live. Apparently the filming of Dead Western's new music video for "Not Really Here At All," went really well last Saturday and I can't wait to see it when it's done. I'll keep you guys posted about that when details unfold.

Our latest KDVS Recordings artist, Pregnant (Daniel Trudeau), is playing in Davis this Thursday February 4th with Dream Goats and Soft Devil at the John Natsoulas Art Gallery (at 1st and E St. downtown). Definitely come out to that show, it's going to be great. And if you've never been to show at Natsoulas you're in for a treat. They set up the music in a huge room surrounded by whatever art exhibit is up then, usually really great stuff. It's the perfect place to see Pregnant perform!

Buying Records and Helping Haiti at the Same Time

We've been thinking of how we at KDVS Recordings can help the dire situation in Haiti right now due to the earthquake on January 12th, 2010. What we came up with was a fund matching of up to $100 in future online record sales. So, starting now, all record sales will be matched with a personal donation of the same amount to the Haiti relief effort via a charity of your choice. If you don't indicate a preference, I'll use my discretion and choose a credible charity myself.

You can make purchases on our websites www.kdvsrecordings.org, and www.myspace.com/kdvsrecordings, or directly to our paypal via kdvsrecordings@gmail.com

We're hoping that maybe you'll enjoy those record spins that much more knowing that your purchase also helped those in need in Haiti.
